Watertown's Purple Tigers enter Region 4A competition as the District 8A champ following Tuesday night's 49-47 victory over No. 1-seeded Friendship Christian in the tournament finals in Lafayette.

Coach Matt Bradshaw's team improved to 24-5 on the season and picked up the first district title for the program in over 75 years.

The Tigers entertain Pickett County tonight at 7 p.m.

Friendship Christian, 21-3 on the season, will host Clay County (20-8) tonight at the Bay Family Sportsplex.

Tonight's Region 4A winners will advance to the semifinal round next week in Livingston.

Wilson Central, fresh off a 66-55 win over Mt. Juliet in the District 9AAA consolation game, will travel to Dickson County tonight to take on the Cougars. The Wildcats stand 23-5 overall while DCHS enters tonight's contest 21-7.

Mt. Juliet High takes a record of 25-6 into tonight's Region 5AAA quarterfinal game at powerful Clarksville Northeast (27-2). The Bears entered the district tournament as the No. 1 seed, but lost in the semifinals and consolation round.
