By JENNIFER HORTONThe Wilson PostIf you’re out and about today or tomorrow, drop by one of the three polling places in Wilson County and cast your ballot early, if you’d like.Early voting continues for the Aug. 5 Republican and Democratic Primaries and General Election now through Saturday, July 31.Through Wednesday, early voting so far totaled 2,776. Early voting began July 16.There were 637 votes cast on Wednesday with 383 of them in Lebanon, 210 in Mt. Juliet and 44 in Watertown, said a spokesperson with the Wilson County Election Commission. If you would like to vote early, you may do so at the Election Commission office at 203 East Main Street, Lebanon; Mt. Juliet Community Center at 1075 Charlie Daniels Pkwy. Mt. Juliet; and Watertown Community Center at 8630 Sparta Pike, Watertown. Hours are from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., Saturday.There are 67,500 registered voters in Wilson County.The ballot is a lengthy one and will take a little longer to get through. On the ballot for the Aug. 5 election are the following: Governor, State Representative, State Senate, State Executive Committee members for the Republican and Democratic Parties, U.S. Representative, County Mayor, County Commission, County Trustee, Sheriff, Criminal Court Judge, Circuit Court Clerk, County Clerk, Wilson County Board of Education, Lebanon Special School District Board of Education, Constable, State Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.For more information about early voting or voting on Election Day, call the Election Commission at 444-0216 or visit online at www.wilsonelections.com.Editor Jennifer Horton may be contacted at email@example.com.
