Event to serve as precursor to 26th Annual Phoenix Ball
With tickets for Cumberland University’s 26th Annual Phoenix Ball nearly sold out, the University shifts its attention to the annual Patron’s Party, an evening of camaraderie, cuisine and conversation scheduled for Thursday, May 28.
To be held from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., the event offers friends of the University and the Cumberland University family an opportunity to socialize as they look ahead to the Ball. The Patron’s Party will be held at the Winstead Paine Bone House (the President’s Residence), located at 516 West Spring Street in Lebanon.
Fewer than 10 tickets remain for the June 6 Phoenix Ball, the University’s annual black-tie fundraiser. For the first time in its history, the 26th Annual Ball will be held in historic Baird Chapel, an elegant 19th century oratorical chapel that provided the backdrop for much of Taylor Swift’s CMA award-nominated “Love Story” video.
The theme for the 2009 Phoenix Ball, “Catching Dreams,” reflects the opportunities the event helps provide for Cumberland’s students. The Ball will begin in Memorial Hall at 6 p.m. with cocktails and a welcome from the Cumberland Student Government Association, and dinner seating will follow promptly at 6:45.
