WATERTOWN – Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, April 26 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. King, 88, of the Statesville Community.
A native of Wilson County and the daughter of the late George Robert and Carrie Naomi Dedman Barnett, Mrs. King died April 24, 2008 at Lebanon’s University Medical Center.
Mrs. Linton passed away April 29, 2008 following an extended illness.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 – 8 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will follow the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
WATERTOWN – Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, April 27 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. Dalton, 89, of Lebanon.
Born in Jackson County to the late Newt and Mary Coffee Warren, she passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Nashville’s St. Thomas Hospital.
LEXINGTON, KY -- Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, May 2 at Main Street Baptist Church for Elder Ward, pastor of the church for the past 19 years.
Elder Ward died April 25, 2008 of complications of lung cancer at the Hospice Care Center of St. Joseph Hospital.
Elder Ward came to Main Street Baptist Church from Mount Zion Baptist Church in Oak Ridge where he preached for 17 years.
LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, May 1 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mr. Davis, 68, of Lebanon.
Retired from DuPont as a supervisor and a veteran of the US Army, Mr. Davis died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the University Medical Center.
The son of the late Charles Rhea and Callie Morris Davis, he was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a 1958 graduate of Lebanon High School.
WATERTOWN -- Memorial services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jones Hill Cemetery for Mrs. McGary, 84, formerly of Watertown.
Retired after 20 years as facilities manager of Bruning Corp., Mrs. McGary died September 21, 2007 in Rockford, Illinois.
Born in Watertown to the late Guy and Linnie Smith, she was a graduate of Watertown High where she played basketball for the Tigerettes and was voted Homecoming Queen.
LEBANON -- Memorial services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, May 5 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Van Haute, 53, of Lebanon.
A former lunch supervisor with the Garden Grove Unified School District in California, she died April 29, 2008 at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Visitation will be held Monday between the hours of 9-11 a.m.
NASHVILLE – Authorities announced the arrest of a man dubbed the Wooded Rapist, suspected of terrorizing women in a series of sexual assaults since 1994, including one of a 16-year-old girl that occurred in Wilson County in February.
The arrest of the suspect, identified as Robert Jason Burdick, 38, of 314 Ash Grove Court, Nashville, was announced by Metro Nashville, Wilson County and Brentwood authorities at a press conference held Thursday afternoon at the South Nashville Police Precinct.
Burdick is suspected in at least 13 rapes that have occurred in Davidson, Williamson and Wilson Counties since 1994. The case was featured a few years ago on the "America’s Most Wanted" television show.
