WATERTOWN -- Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, October 26 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Watkins, 54, of Watertown.
Born in Overton County and a remodeling contractor, Mr. Watkins died Oct. 24, 2008 at Alive Hospice -- St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. The son of the late Carl and Lucille Watkins, he was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Services were conducted by Brother George Coaker with burial at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Livingston.
Survivors include: siblings Janie (Carl) Rogers and Jack (Karen) Watkins -- all of Livingston; niece Jennifer (Kevin) Cauley and Richard Rogers; great nieces and nephews: Justin and Amy Rogers and Balie Cauley along with mother-in-law Louise Turrentine of Alexandria and sister-in-law Louise Watkins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Deborah Watkins and brother Jimmy Watkins.

LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at the First Baptist Church for Mr. James. R. Dodson, 82, of Lebanon.
A longtime law enforcement officer and former Chief of the Lebanon Police Department, Mr. Dodson died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008 at Alive Hospice following a battle with cancer.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Dodson was the son of the late Raymond and Lula Dodson. A Southern Baptist, he was retired after 31 years service from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, where he served with distinction as Captain of both the Cookeville District and the Nashville District, as well as four years as the LPD Chief.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Partlow Funeral Chapel and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. at Lebanon FBC.
Services will be conducted by Brother Don McElroy with burial at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: his wife of 52 years Dot Dodson; sons Derek Dodson, Darren Dodson, and Damon (Rachal) Dodson; grandchildren Caroline, Jack and Denton Dodson.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dodson is preceded in death by sister Emogene Clark
Active pallbearers will be: Tennessee Highway Patrol. Honorary pallbearers: Lebanon Police Department, Wilson County Sheriff’s Department, special fishing friends and the Elaine’s Restaurant group. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice.

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services will be conducted 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 29 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mr. Sturgill, 69 of Mt. Juliet.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Sturgill died October 27, 2008. He was the son of the late Aubrey and Beulah Delph Sturgill.
Visitation Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel.
Survivors include: wife Mary Sturgill of Mt. Juliet; son Mike (Gina) Sturgill of Monroe, MI and grandchildren Jodee Petiprin and Mason Sturgill.

LEBANON -- Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, October 26at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mrs. Payne, 90, of Hermitage.
The daughter of the late Wilford and Lura Johnson Hudson and a 1938 graduate of Watertown High School, she died Oct. 24, 2008 at Mt. Juliet Health Care.
Retired from Genesco, she was a member of Pennington Bend United Methodist Church in Donelson. Interment was in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her sister Willette (Charles) Hall of Hermitage.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Marvin Ross Payne who passed away March 6, 1995.

LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, October 30 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mrs. Sires, 88. A member of the Bethlehem Methodist Church, she passed away October 26, 2008.
Very active at the Cedar Seniors Center, Mrs. Sires participated in the Senior Olympics.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday between the hours of 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 11 a.m. until service. Services will be conducted by Reverend Jacqueline Sojourner. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include children: Sandra (Chris) Hooker of Lebanon and Charles Sires of Chicago; grandchildren Christopher Hooker and Sarah Hooker -- both of Forth Worth TX and Tiffany Hooker of Columbus, OH.
Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers. The Cedar Seniors will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Sires is preceded in death by husband William R. Sires, parents Charles E. and Girtie Lee Martin Hunt, brother Charles Hunt and sister Frances Brockett.

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, October 26 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mr. Williamson, 71, of Mt. Juliet. A retired driver for Roadway Express, he passed away October 23, 2008.
Mr. Williamson was a native of Blytheville, Arkansas and was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ. Services were conducted by Bill Speight.
Survivors include: wife Peggy Williamson and children Lt. Duane (Barbara) Williamson and Tracey Danter -- all of Mt. Juliet.
Also surviving is sister Jo Ann Crow of Metamora, IL and grandchildren Christopher Williamson, Gregory Williamson, USMC Recruit Jesse Williamson, Alex Williamson, Cody Williamson, Angela Jaramillo and Tina Jaramillo.
He was the son of the late Clarence and Myrtle Evelyn Johnson Williamson.

LEBANON -- Funeral services have been set for 11 a.m. Friday, October 31at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mr. Christian, 73 of Lebanon. "Bill" passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 at University Medical Center.
Mr. Christian was retired from the City of Lebanon and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until service time. Services will be conducted by Brother Rodney Haskins. Burial will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Survivors: wife Lee Harris Christian; children Lonnie Christian, Pat (Mack) Thompson, Linda Sutton, Randy Christian, Philip (Marsha) Christian -- all of Murfreesboro and Debra Jensen of Louisville, Ky; step-children Audrey (Pete) Bain, Buddy Harris and friend Kenneth Klapp, Jamie (Stephanie) Harris; sisters Mary Helen (Charles) Enoch, Ruth (L.E.) Speck and margaret (Ed) Kimberly; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and seven step grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by parents Forrest and Ova Christian.
