Wilson County featured on cover of new Tennessee Civil War Trails Guide
Just in time for Memorial Day, the Wilson County Convention and Visitors Bureau announces the release of the new Tennessee Civil War Trails Guide and the dedication of the Battle of Lebanon marker.

The cover of the new Tennessee Civil War Trails Guide features the historic Neddy Jacobs Cabin on the Lebanon Square. The Battle of Lebanon maker was recently dedicated by Commissioner Susan Whitaker of the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development along with local officials. The marker is one of 150 markers throughout the state.

Wilson County honors its sacrifices this month from the Civil War, when Confederate General John Hunt Morgan and his army were defeated on May 5, 1862 in the Battle of Lebanon by Union General Ebenezer Dumont and his troops. The Civil War Sesquicentennial begins in 2011 in America, when local chapters of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and United Daughters of the Confederacy are also planning to have special events around Lebanon.

NSS sets benefit autograph session at June 5 race

Fans coming to Nashville Superspeedway Saturday, June 5 for the “Federated Auto Parts 300” NASCAR Nationwide Series race will be able to attend the “Race Fest for Flood Relief.”

This event is an exclusive autograph session and auction featuring a large number of series regulars while directly helping those in need as a result of the recent Nashville area floods.

A NASCAR Nationwide Series driver autograph session is scheduled from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, June 5 at the Nationwide Insurance display in the Expo area located outside of Gate 3 at the Superspeedway.

Fans attending the autograph session will be asked to make a canned food or monetary donation at the track to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee in order to receive admission to the autograph session. A limited number of wristbands will be issued in advance of the autograph session beginning at 11 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

Race fans will also have the opportunity at the autograph session to bid on several autographed NASCAR items during a silent auction to be held at the Nationwide Insurance display. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. Fans can browse the items up for auction by visiting NashvilleSuperspeedway.com and clicking the “Race Fest for Flood Relief” icon.

Fans unable to attend the Race Fest for Flood Relief can still support the Second Harvest Food Bank by dropping canned goods in collection bins located at the entrance gates to the main grandstands.

For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 1-866-RACE-TIX or visit www.NashvilleSuperspeedway.com.
