Obituaries

Albert Ray Wynne, 71
LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, August 17 at the First Baptist Church for Mr. Wynne, 71, of Lebanon.
The son of the late Lonnie and Louise Wynne, he died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at the University  Medical Center.
A graduate of Lebanon High School, he worked in construction as a project manager and was retired from Lowe’s in Madison. Mr. Wynne was a member of First Baptist Church, Lebanon.
Services were conducted by Brother David Freeman and Brother Don McElroy.
Interment followed at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: his wife of 32 years Camille Wynne; son Jason (Shay) Wynne; and grandchild Gabriel Wynne.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
The family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army.

Ann Haynes Jordan, 71
LEBANON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Jordan, 71, of Lebanon, were held Sunday afternoon, August 15 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
Born July 26, 1939, to the late Jesse and Nellie Adams Haynes, Mrs. Jordan died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at the University Medical Center.
A 1957 graduate of Watertown High School, she retired from Bank of America with over 20 years service where she was an administrative assistant. She was a member of Love’s Way Community Church.
Services were conducted by Rev. Bob Evans. Interment followed at the Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: her husband of 51 years Doyle Jordan; children Rick Jordan of Lebanon and April (Larry) Boshers of Mt. Juliet and granddaughter Faith Boshers.
Also surviving are siblings Patsy Barrett of Cookeville, Shirley Reed of Auburntown, Nancy Stroud and Melvin (Doretta) Haynes -- both of Lebanon and Bro. James Haynes of Cookeville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Goolsby.

Barbara Ann Mecher, 59
LEBANON -- A memorial service has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, August 21 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mrs. Mecher, 59, of Lebanon.
The widow of the late Michael Mecher, Jr., she died Aug. 13, 2010.
The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service on Saturday.
Services will be conducted by Brother Danny Sellars.
Survivors include daughters Lori (James) Thomason and Michelle Mecher; siblings Jim (Laura)  McPherson, Lyle (Anette) McPherson and Betty (Tim) Harahan; grandchildren Angel Torres, Alexandra Thomason and Michael Barrett.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by son Michael Mecher Jr., parents Damon and Dorothy Maire McPherson and brother Robert McPherson.
Robert “Bob” Becht will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

David Russell Scott, 58
LEBANON -- A Celebration of Life is planned for 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 17 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mr. Scott, 58, of Lebanon.
A commercial contractor, he died Aug. 13, 2010.
Giving to the community as an active member of the AA Fellowship, Mr. Scott was an avid fisherman, devoted loving husband and father who loved his wife and son with his whole being. He was a courageous man who bravely and successfully battled cancer.
Survivors include wife Melissa Pleier Scott; son Zachary David Scott; parents Milton Parker and Norma “Peggy” Navarro Miller Scott; brothers twin Daniel (Betty) Scott and Reid (Brenda) Scott; along with many nieces and nephews.

Ella Knowles, 88
LEBANON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Knowles, 88, of Lebanon are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 18 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
A native of Wilson County and a longtime employee of Texas Boot Company, she died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at the home of her sister in Brentwood.
The daughter of the late Jessie Herbert and Elizabeth Frances Williams Lea, she was a member of the Green Hill Church of Christ.
Visitation after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Ligon & Bobo.
Services will be conducted by Brother Randall Newman and Brother August Ruff. Interment will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. 
Survivors include: grandchildren Sharon Annette Drye of Murfreesboro, Perry Allen Knowles of  Lebanon and Melanie Ann Alexander of Smyrna; daughter-in-law Peggy Knowles of Mt. Juliet; sisters Ola Mai Hackney and Mary Baines -- both of Lebanon and Pauline Keith of Brentwood; brothers William Lea of Murfreesboro; Raymond Lea of Lebanon and Melvin Lea of Watertown along with five great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Claude William Knowles, son Clayton Knowles, siblings Riley Lea and Agnes Marie Lea. 
Active pallbearers: Phillip Lea, Robert Baines, Jeff Baines, Mitch Lea, Tony Lea, Carl Lea, Homer Ray Lea, Kenneth Bates and Kevin Drye.
Honorary: Mable Hall, Robert Adkins, Houston Stanton, Robert Evans, Ricky Hight, Tommy Lea, Jerry Smith, Ray Williams, Katherine Knowles, Mary Edwards and Donna Hackney.

Helen Crain, 89
MT. JULIET -- Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, August 16 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet for Mrs. Crain, 89, of Nashville.
The widow of the late James Crain, she died Aug. 13, 2010.
Services were conducted by Pastor Howard Plummer. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Survivors include: daughters Linda Parrish and Barbara (Robert) Parrish; sister Billie Coggins; sister-in-law Edna Estes; brother-in-law Durbon Crain; grandchildren Kristen, Rachel and Drew Parrish; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Crain is preceded in death by parents Robert Lee and Etta Estes; brother Jack Estes and sister O'Dell King.
Pallbearers included: Alan Greer, Jared Jones, Roy Crain, Drew Parrish, Robert Parrish, Ronald Parrish and Russell Bayuk.

Helen Hays Eatherly, 90
LEBANON -- Funeral services wer held Tuesday afternoon, August 17 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Eatherly, 90, of Lebanon.
A 1941 Cumberland University graduate and the second Librarian for the City of Lebanon, she died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Eatherly was a 1938 graduate of Lebanon High School and a member of First Baptist Church. 
She formerly worked for the Texas Eastern Pipe Line and the State of Tennessee in the Department of Human Services.
Services were conducted by Dr. Larry Locke. Interment followed at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include: sons Rob Eatherly Jr. amd John W. Eatherly -- both of Lebanon; sister Wynn Morton; grandchildren Beth Barry, Bill Eatherly, Angie (Mark) White, Kip (Candy) Eatherly and Julie Niblett. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Justin & Hali Barry, Blake & Callie Bell White and Kendall & Nate Eatherly; daughter-in-law Pam Eatherly.
She is preceded in death by parents W. B.  & Nell Hays, husband Bob Eatherly and son Kenneth Eatherly.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Mary Evelyn Templeton, 76
WATERTOWN -- Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, August 16 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. Templeton, 76 of Lebanon.
A native of Wilson County and the daughte of the late Raymond and Louise Payne Patterson, she died Aug. 13, 2010 at her residence.
A member of the Watertown First Baptist Church where she served as pianist, she was retired from University Medical Center where she worked as a billing specialist.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Donald Owens and the Rev. Don Mathis. Burial was at the Hearn Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include: sons Alan Templeton and Mark Templeton -- both of Lebanon; grandchildren Misty (Aaron) Grayham of Gardner, KS; Jennifer (Denver) Bowers of Nashville and Mark Templeton, Jr. of Mt. Juliet.
Also surviving are great grandchildren Taylor Rich, Garrett and Ella Grayham and Annabelle Bowers.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Olen Eugene Templeton and grandson Patrick Alan Templeton.
Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown, was in charge of arrangements.

Russell P. Jaruczyk, 72
LEBANON -- Funeral services for Mr. Jaruczyk, 72, of Lebanon, were held Tuesday morning, August 17 at the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Born September 5, 1937, in Encarnacion, Paraguay, he died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at his home.
The son of the late Julian and Eva Piatachuk Jaruczyk, he was a retired carpenter, minister and founder of New Life Ukraine Children’s Ministries.
He received an Honorary Doctorate of Ministry Degree from Odessa Theological Seminary, Kyiv, Ukraine, and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Services were conducted by Pastor John Hunn. Interment followed at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. 
Survivors include: his wife of 44 years Nina Leonovich Jaruczyk; children Julie (Eric) Saunders of Brownsburg, Indiana; Lillian (Kirk) Guillot of Mt. Juliet; John (Susana) Jaruczyk of Snellville, GA and Andre Jaruczyk of Lebanon.
Also surviving are siblings Tanya Wasyluk of Encarnacion, South America; Elsa (Ivan) Gnatenco and Ninfa (Elio) Garcia -- all of West Palm Beach, FL; Rev. Anatolio (Luba) Jaruczyk of Clark, New Jersey; and grandchildren Ashley & Ryan Saunders, Ethan & Corben Guillot, Tamara, Nicholas & Samuel Jaruczyk.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Connie Jaruczyk; sister Leonida Blazechuk; and brother Joseph Jaruczyk.
Active pallbearers:  Eric Saunders, John Jaruczyk, Kirk Guillot, Walter Jaruczyk, Rick Jaruczyk, and John Horstmeyer. Honorary: Talmadge Kelley and Clyde Ricketts.

Scott Benson named to fill Hutto's LSSD position

Scott Benson has been named as Interim Assistant Director of the Lebanon Special School District, said Dr. Sharon Roberts, director of the school system, earlier this week.

Benson currently serves as principal of Walter J. Baird Middle School. He was also named as Principal of the new Winfree Bryant Middle School which is now under construction off Leeville Pike in Lebanon.

Assistant Director Randall Hutto is resigning his position with his last day to be Aug. 31 after winning the Aug. 5 General Election for County Mayor. He will take office on Sept. 1 and at that point in time, Benson will fill the assistant director’s position.

Titans' train tickets on sale now

Tickets for Game-Day Express, the Regional Transportation Authority’s (RTA) Music City Star train service to Riverfront Station for all Tennessee Titans’ home games, are now on sale at area ticket outlets for the upcoming 2010 NFL season.

Tickets are available at the Donelson Hermitage Chamber of Commerce, Lebanon City Hall, Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, Mt. Juliet City Hall, Music City Central, and Riverfront Station.  Tickets also may be purchased online.

The service is available for REGULAR SEASON home games, beginning with the Sept. 12 game against the Oakland Raiders. 

The RTA will run one Music City Star train on game days.  Cost is $15 for an advance single-game ticket, $20 for a game-day purchase on the train or $110 for a season ticket.  Season tickets are available through Wednesday, Sept. 1.  By purchasing a season ticket, fans save 45 percent off of the price of a ticket purchased on the train on game days.  Parking is free at all of the outlying stations.  Please note that regular weekday Music City Star tickets are not valid on the Game-Day Express train.

For noon games, the Music City Star operates the schedule listed below:

• Depart from Lebanon Station   10 a.m.
• Depart from Martha Station   10:15 a.m.
• Depart from Mt. Juliet Station  10:25 a.m.
• Depart from Hermitage Station  10:35 a.m.
• Depart from Donelson Station  10:50 a.m.
• Arrive at Riverfront Station   11 a.m.

The return train to Lebanon leaves Riverfront Station 45 minutes after the game.

For the Thursday, Dec. 9 game, the train departs Lebanon Station at 3:55 p.m.

Passengers are welcome to tailgate at the outlying train stations prior to the game and also may tailgate on the train.  In addition, they may bring small coolers onboard and leave them on the train upon arrival at Riverfront Station.

Game-Day Express tickets also are available at the following locations:

• By phone at (615) 862-5950 (MasterCard and Visa accepted)
• By mail to the RTA office, 130 Nestor St., Nashville  37210 (Send check or money order only; Please include two phone numbers with area codes and a complete address where the tickets should be sent.)
• Game day on the train (cash only)

A handling fee of $2.50 ($5 for certified mail) will be applied to all mail, phone and online orders.
