LEBANON -- Memorial services have been scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, August 20 at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon for Mr. Hurst, 63, of Daytona Beach, FL.
He passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010.
Visitation Friday from 4 p.m. until the service.
Speaking will be Mr. William Reeve and Pastor Rick Smelcer.
Survivors include wife of 35 years Mary Jones Hurst; children Brandon (Lisa) Hurst, Heather (Darren) Novosel and Jeff Hurst.
Also surviving are brothers R.H. (Ima) Hurst, Jim (Betty) Hurst, Bobby (Bonnie) Hurst, David (Shirley) Hurst, Donnie (Suzanne) Hurst and L.C. (Marilyn) Hurst; sister Janice (Rick) Smelcer; grandchildren Charles Brandon Hurst, Ally Reeve and Makyla Reeve; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorable Mention: Sean McCracken and Paige Jones.
He is preceded in death by parents Roy Haskell and Eula Blanche Hurst and brother Gene Hurst. Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.
MT. JULIET -- Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, August 21 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet for Mr. Edwards, 66, of Mt. Juliet.
Known as "Pop" to his family and friends, he passed away Aug. 18, 2010.
Mr. Edwards was retired from United Parcel Service and was a veteran of the US Navy.
Visitation with the family will be Friday from 2-8 pm and Saturday from 9-11 am.
Services will be conducted by Buster and Mike Mayberry. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville with his nephews serving as pallbearers.
Survivors include: his wife of 48 years Shirley Edwards; sons John, Shannon and Bill Edwards; grandchildren Lauren and Blake Edwards; siblings Margie (Sonny) Connelly, Pat (Linda) Edwards and Jerry (Edith) Edwards; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by parents, H. P. Edwards & Carlene Harris; brother Horace Edwards and sister Geneva Victory.

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Bates, 92, of Mt. Juliet.
Retired from United Insurance Company, she died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010.
Mrs. Bates was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ, a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and Cumberland University.
Visitation will be 12-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at Bond Memorial Chapel.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Chuck Groover and Brother John Brown. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: nieces Myra Simms and Austelle Smartt; nephews Walter “Butch” Heckman, Grayson “Pete” Heckman and Tim Meadows; sister-in-law Virginia Bates (Garland) Meadows; several great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and numerous lifelong friends along with caregivers Dorothy Carter, Florence Fulgham, Lisa Harris and Deborah Johnson.
Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her parents P. T. and Mattie Peach Burnett, her husband of 59 years Verner Bates and her sister Eleanor Baird.
Active pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary: the Center Chapel Tuesday Ladies Bible Class. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Mt. Juliet High School Lady Bears Basketball Program.

OLD HICKORY -- Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, August 20 at Tulip Grove Baptist Church for Mr. Cole, 18, of Mt. Juliet.
A 2010 graduate of Mt. Juliet Christian Academy and a member of the Tulip Grove Baptist Church, he died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010.
Visitation with the family Friday 9 - 11 a.m. at the church.
Services will be conducted by Dr. Alec Cort and Dr. Gerald Bontrager. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: parents Todd and Carol Cole; brother Mitchell Cole; grandparents Buddy and Faye Cole; grandmother Betty Jean Herndon; uncle Bobby Herndon; aunt Jennifer Cole; aunts and uncles Lynn and Richard West, Mary and Joe Pugh, Martha and Greg Riggs, Mark and Sandi Herndon and Tim and Tracey Cole; as well as several cousins.
He is preceded in death by grandfather Robert Russell Herndon.
