Betty Joe Highers, 81

OLD HICKORY -- Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, Nov. 30 at the Hermitage Funeral Home for Mrs. Highers, 81, of Lebanon. Mrs. Highers died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010.

Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Survivors include: daughter Betty Sue (Tim) Gross; son Hatton Coleman "Sonny" (Felicia) Highers, Jr.; siblings Sandra Hardy, Gary Hammond and Arthur Primrose; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hatton Coleman Highers, Sr.

Arrangements by Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.

Glade William Taylor, 23

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 30 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mr. Taylor, 23, of Hermitage.

A 2005 graduate of Lighthouse Christian Academy, he died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010. An avid sports fan, he loved people, music, Christmas and his dog Jade. Services were conducted by Rev. Poly Rouse.
Survivors include: father Rob (Michelle) Taylor; mother Terri Taylor; siblings Braxton (Samantha) Taylor, Kelsey, Shelby and Cassidy Gibbs; grandparents Katheryn Vestal, Doug Taylor, Guy and Shirley Wilmoth and Jackie Williams; nieces Kensley Rain Taylor and Kira Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Berdene Cox and Vern Ackerman.
Honorary pallbearers: Shimal Omar, Tyler Farley, Phillip Buggs, Noel Haynes, Daniel Zarate, David Drumwright and John Patton.

Memorials may be made to the Monroe Harding Children's Home, 1120 Glendale Lane, Nashville, 37204.  Bond Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Willie Dean Maynard, 87

LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, Nov. 30 at Wilson County Funeral Home  for Mr. Maynard, 87, of Mt. Juliet.

The son of the late Birdie Elizabeth Haggard Maynard and James Fentley Maynard, he died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at Cedars Health Care Center in Lebanon. He enjoyed going to church, listening to gospel and country music and spending time with his family.

Services were conducted by Rev. Ronnie Armistead and Mr. Maynard's nephew, Justin Smith.
Survivors include: sisters Dimple Smith Hook and Winnie Bush; several nieces and nephews; one great-nephew and one great-niece.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Howard, Dennis, CB and Bobby Maynard.

Pallbearers were nephews Jeff Smith, Terry Smith, Jimmy Smith, Dennis Smith and Dwayne Marek.  Honorary: the staff at Cedars Health Care Nursing Home.

Wilson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
