Obituaries

Berley Upton Carter, 87
LEBANON -- Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18 at the Cedar Grove Cemetery for Mr. Carter, 87, of Lebanon.
Retired from Texas Boot Company, he died Feb. 17, 2011 at Masters Health Care in Algood.
Born April 1, 1923, in Macon County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Iva Cox Carter and was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Survivors include children: Alice (Larry) Pryor of Cookeville and Robert Carter of Lebanon.
Also surviving are grandchildren Uriah (Amanda) Pryor, Derek and Aaron Pryor; siblings Bobby Joe (Frances) Carter, Jack (Donna) Carter, Hassie Houshour, Shirley Ann Carter and Charlene (Richard) Piercey. 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Billie Shannon Carter; and sisters Lassie Young and Faye Roberts.

Donna Lynn Moser, 50
LEBANON -- Memorial services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at First United Methodist Church for Ms. Moser, 50, of Lebanon.
She passed away Feb. 10, 2011.
Services will be conducted by Dr. Martin Thielen.
Survivors include: daughters  Clacey Farley, Michelle (Mike) Hall and Brandy Farley; parents Lynn and Dottie Mosher; fiancé Dave Belcher; grandchild Cassidy Farley; brother Steve (Natalie) Mosher; nephews Derek Mosher, Jared Mosher, Wyatt Mosher and Colte Mosher; as well as aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Honorary pallbearers: special caregivers Kathy and Jerry Hale and Denise Moore.
Special thanks are expressed to everyone involved in support, love, flowers, prayers and food.

J.W. Higgins, 77
LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mr. Higgins, 77, of Lebanon.
Mr. Higgins passed away on Feb. 15, 2011.
The family will be receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until the service on Saturday.
Services will be conducted by Brother Owen Powell. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include: wife of 53 years Betty Higgins; sons Mike (Renee) Higgins and Chris (Kim) Higgins; grandchildren Carter Higgins, Justin Higgins, Misti Sharpe and Kayla Rose; along with great-grandchildren Hayden Higgins, Eli Sharpe, and Peyton Sharpe. 
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
He was preceded in death by parents Early and Inie Lingerfelt Higgins.

Onie Lackey Hodge, 85
LEBANON -- Funeral services have been set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mrs. Hodge, 85, of Lebanon.
Formerly employed at Hartmann Luggage and retired from Precision Rubber, she died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at her residence.
Born Aug. 12, 1925 in Sumner County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Lackey and Bessie Brown Lackey and was a member of the Church of God.
Visitation Friday 2-8 p.m. and Saturday after 10 a.m. 
Services will be conducted by Brother Jackie Lackey. Burial follows at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: children Onie Hodge Philabaun of Irving, TX; Charles “Butch” (Sandra) Hodge and Donna McIntyre -- all of Lebanon; siblings  Mary Mullins of Mississippi, Sue B. Brewington and Jack Lackey, Sr. -- both of Lebanon; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Charles William Hodge; siblings Myrtle Lackey, Della Coats, Buster, Charlie, Joe, Earl, James, John and Lester Lackey. 
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
