Obituaries

Clyde Buddy Slaughter, 78
NASHVILLE -- Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday July 22 at Family Worship Center, 3129 McGavock Pike, Nashville, for Mr. Slaughter, 78, of Hermitage.
Retired from Aerostructures, he died Tuesday, July 19, 2011.
Mr. Slaughter worked for several years at Fly Away after his retirement and was deeply loved by his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday morning at the church.
Services will be conducted by Pastor Noble Gammon. Interment will follow at Stephens Family Cemetery.
Survivors include: children Larry Slaughter, Rosie Stamps and Christy Bowers along with adopted son William Hindman; sister Cora Cothran; grandchildren Megan Phillips, Zachary Phillips, Cody Bowers and Gabriel Stamps; great-grandchild Wesley Zane.
He was preceded in death by parents Clyde Slaughter and Margaret Luttrell Stephens; wife Shirley Slaughter; grandson Caleb Bowers; brother J.T. Slaughter and sister Helen Hessey.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Family Worship Center.

Elsie Mae Jones, 84
LEBANON -- Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Ms. Jones, 84, of Lebanon.
Born November 22, 1926, in Wilson County to the late Andy and Annie Piercy Tomlinson, she died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Cedars Health Care.
She was a homemaker and attended the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
Visitation Friday 2-8 p.m. and Saturday after 9 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo.
Services will be conducted by Brother John Petree. Interment will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. 
Survivors include: children Patricia A. (Jimmie) Hodge and Gary M. (Debbie) Jones -- all of Lebanon, Brenda K. Apple of Charlotte and Glenda F. (David) Whaley of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Tomlinson and Frances Bennett; brother Luster Tomlinson and grandson Josh Patterson.
Lebanon's Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Stanley Dutile, 64
LEBANON -- Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, July 22 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Margaret Stanley Dutile, 64, of Lebanon.
Born October 5, 1946, in Davidson County to the late Ed and Ada Bell Cox Stanley, she died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at her home.
She operated the Blue Barn in Gallatin for the past 20 years and was a member of New Life Ministries.
Visitation Friday after 9 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo.
Services will be conducted by Brother George Wallace. Interment will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: her husband of over 48 years James M. Dutile Sr.; children James Mitchell (Tonya) Dutile Jr. of Spring Hill and Bridget (James) Gordon of Lebanon; grandchildren Megan, Amanda and Gabriel Dutile, Brittany, Charity and Elizabeth Gordon; sister Shirley Ann Holder of Alexandria; and brother J. W. Stanley of Smyrna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Ed Sherman Stanley, Beverly Stanley, Charles Stanley, Don Stanley and Walter Stanley.
Lebanon's Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Maurice Turner, 94
LEBANON -- Raymond Turner passed away on July 21, 2011 at age 84.
The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 and from12 Noon until the service Sunday, July 24.
The chapel service will be conducted by Reverend John Akin.
Interment with full military honors will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery immediately following the service.  Pallbearers: Bill Beavers, Ellis Williams, Robert South, Donald Hale, Barry Williams, Jake Gibbs, Ed Hurley, Hunter Gibbs, and Evan Hurley.  Honorary: Cedar Seniors, Mike Holmes, and nurses and doctors of University Medical Center.
Special thanks to Dr. Efobi and staff and deacons of Fairview Baptist Church.
Mr. Turner, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and served as a retired deacon.
He was a member of Rose Crox Eastern Star and Lebanon Free A & M Masons.  Mr. Turner was retired after 20 years active service with the United States Air Force.
Survivors include: his wife of 57 years, Nancy Hale Turner; daughters Vivian (Ed) Hurley, Judy (Jake) Gibbs, and Pamela (Robert) South; and grandchildren Meredith Holmes, Evan Hurley, Katelyn Gibbs, Hunter Gibbs, and Amanda South.
He is preceded in death by parents Virgil and Earlene Vantrease Turner, sisters Evelyn Turner Williams and Jean Turner Williams, brothers Clyde Turner, Harry Turner, and Wallace Turner, and grandchildren Ashley Nicole South and Haley Renee South.
