LPD responds to Friday domestic altercation

Lebanon Police responded to a stabbing on Friday, April 12 at 1 a.m. on 1694 A Classicview Drive.

Upon arrival officers found a 43-year-old male victim had been stabbed in the abdomen. His girlfriend, 55, told officers they had been involved in a domestic altercation. According to reports, the female stated that she had reached for a knife and stabbed him in order to get away.

He is in stable condition and is able to speak to detectives, the report read. The female has injuries that appear to be consistent with her account of the events. Detectives will present this case to the District Attorneys office.

No charges have been filed on either party at this time.

WHS plays for 2nd place in 8A

TIGERS SWEEP WEEKEND GAMES --
Fresh from sweeping three weekend games at the Alex Cassetty Invitational, Watertown's Purple Tigers will visit Trousdale County High Tuesday with second place in District 8A riding on the outcome.

Later in the week, the Tigers will host Westmoreland Thursday in a doubleheader at Three Forks Park. Coach E.J. Wood's team improved to 10-7-2 with the solid showing in Gainesboro.

Watertown 6, Smith Co. 0
GAINESBORO -- Soph Nolan Allison threw a six-inning four-hitter Saturday evening, helping Watertown blank Smith county 6-0 in six innings in the Alex Cassetty Invitational.

The Purple Tigers took control with a four-run explosion in the third inning. Ben Bain, led a 10-hit attack, going 3-for-3 against Owl pitching with singles in the second, third, and fourth innings.

Allison walked one, struck out four and only threw 85 pitches -- 65 for strikes.

Watertown 10, Monterey 0
GAINESBORO -- Colin Jennings threw a five-inning shutout Saturday afternoon as Watertown blanked Monterey 10-0 in the Alex Cassetty Invitational.
Jennings struck out seven, scattered five hits and issued three walks.

The Tigers scored four runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Tanner Rowland, two hit batsmen, and a fielder's choice. Robert Caruthers led Watertown as he got on base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI with singles in the first and fifth innings.

Brannon Hill and Dusty Meador each had two hits while Nolan Allison had a double and three RBI.

Watertown 14, Jackson County 0
GAINESBORO -- Watertown opened play Friday with a 14-0 whitewash of host Jackson County Friday night in the Alex Cassetty Invitational.

Watertown scored five runs in the fifth on a wild pitch, a two-run double by Justin Johnson, an RBI double by Dennie Holcomb, and an RBI single by Ben Bain. Holcomb went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for Watertown.

Justin Johnson kept Jackson County at bay, pitching a three-hit a shutout, and striking out four.
