Mrs. Maxwell, 71, of Lebanon, passed away Sept. 1, 2013. Mrs. Maxwell is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Maxwell and sister Lorinda Mae Davidson.

She is preceded in death by parents Douglas and Phyllis Johnston Davidson.
No services are scheduled.
Arrangements were in the care of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon.

Lebanon girl still missing

Lebanon Police are still looking for a local girl who went missing on Friday, Aug. 30.

Deshon Lynn Crawford, a student at Lebanon HIgh School, was reported as a runaway by her mother. Her mother told authorities she was last seen around 11 p.m. leaving 613 North Greenwood Extension.

No additional information is available at this time.

MJPD nabs alleged serial shoplifters

A trio of alleged serial shoplifters was arrested after Mt. Juliet Police responded to a theft in-progress call at Target in Providence MarketPlace Monday afternoon, Sept. 2.

Targets loss prevention team recognized the three as suspects from previous reported thefts and notified police once they looked familiar. The loss prevention team was helpful in relaying the proper information to Mt. Juliet Police so the three suspects could be apprehended, said Sgt. Tyler Chandler, spokesperson for the Mt. Juliet Police Department.

One vehicle wreck snaps pole

BULLETIN -- A one-vehicle accident on the Sparta Pike snapped a utility pole in half when the driver apparently "blacked-out" due to a medical condition.

According to Officer Steve Green with the Lebanon Police Department, a Ford pick-up truck driven by Lebanon's William S. Mitchell, was headed northbound on the Sparta Pike when it left the roadway and struck a utility pole at Legends Car Wash.

Reports indicate the pole was snapped in two and that Mr. Mitchell was initially refusing medical treatment.

Schools director address questions

An anonymous letter that was received by The Wilson Post on Aug. 21 was also sent to several Wilson County Commissioners and circulated at Monday nights monthly meeting.

Jerry McFarland, District 5 commissioner, asked Dr. Tim Setterlund, director of Wilson County Schools, if he had seen the letter following his report on the school system. Setterlund acknowledged that he had and would write a letter to the commissioners explaining each point.

CU soccer players honored

Three Cumberland soccer athletes have earned Player of the Week honor from the Mid-South Conference for their recent efforts.

Women's soccer players Rhianne Parsons and Kristen Anstey were named the MSC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week after helping the Bulldogs to a pair of wins in the clubs opening matches of the season.

Cumberland, ranked 13th nationally, posted a 4-2 victory at Tennessee Wesleyan to start the season and then defeated 22nd-ranked Brenau University, 1-0, at home on Sunday.
