BOE not present at Craighead's Cumberland Center meeting

Lebanon Mayor Philip Craighead’s interlocal meeting held Thursday evening invited members of the Wilson County Commission, Wilson County School Board and Lebanon City Council to hear his plans for the Cumberland Center Entertainment District.

Although school board members were invited, none were present at the meeting.

East Wilson may get dusting of snow

National Weather Service Office meteorologists have updated the forecast for Tuesday night into Wednesday and it now looks like there is only a potential for a dusting of snow in the eastern part of Wilson County.

DES MOINES, IA -- Cody Linton’s Major Decision over No. 3 Kamron Jackson at 184 and Tyler Smith’s 13-6 Decision versus No. 7 David Lopez, capped a huge weekend for eighth-ranked Cumberland, as the Bulldogs stormed back for a 20-18 victory over No. 4 University of Great Falls, and also defeated No. 2 Montana State-Northern for a third-place finish at the NWCA National Duals in Des Moines, Iowa.

McNeal, Swindoll take TBCA honors

NASHVILLE -- Former Friendship Christian School baseball standout Brennan Swindoll and longtime Commander coach John McNeal were named the 2013 Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Player and Coach of the Year at the organization's annual banquet Saturday, Jan. 11.

The pair helped lead FCS to the TSSAA Class A state championship in 2013 and a record off 33-6.
