Articles bring great turnout for Regional Bicycle, Pedestrian Plan

To the Editor:

Thank you very much for the tremendous support The Wilson Post recently provided to the Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (MPO) ongoing work for developing the Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan in greater Nashville region. By publishing articles in your paper, the community was very aware of the public meeting which yielded a great turnout at the meeting.

We had a wonderful turnout in Wilson County and received many insightful suggestions and recommendations for improving existing walking and bicycling facilities, as well as creating new opportunities for these activities.

We welcome the community’s comments and recommendations about ways to improve walking and bicycling in the region; plus you are welcome to email me at meehan@nashvillempo.org.

The comments we receive from the public are being incorporated into the regional vision for walking and bicycling facilities in the greater Nashville region, and will be further incorporated into the MPO’s Long Range Transportation plan for all modes of transportation.

I also encourage those who could not attend the public meeting to visit www.nashvillempo.org and complete the brief survey on bicycling and walking.

Thank you again!

Leslie A. Meehan, MPANashville Area MPO
