Bank will build new headquarters on W. Main St.
The bank’s current main office will continue to operate throughout construction. The new building will be located behind the existing structure.
First Freedom Bank’s new main office will feature the same classic appearance of its two Mt. Juliet offices, a design reminiscent of some of the most significant buildings in early American history, including Independence Hall in Philadelphia. While classic in design, the brick building will include advanced technology and other features to support operational efficiency, energy efficiency and sustainability.
The new main office will include executive offices and private offices for lending, mortgage and investment services. It will also include safety deposit boxes, conference rooms, a training room and Board room in addition to its retail lobby. There will be capacity for four drive-through windows and a 24-hour ATM facility.
Energy efficiency is incorporated into the design through the use of LED lighting, high-efficiency HVAC systems with customized controls, low-flow plumbing fixtures, use of materials with high recycled content and low emitance of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), and an air-sealed building envelope according to Architect Jeff W. Hall, AIA, The Hall Group.
Large, operable windows will be employed to allow natural ventilation during mild seasons. The large windows also allow daylight to reach deep within the building. Additional energy efficient and sustainability features include occupancy and daylight sensors which will be utilized to manage energy use.
The large building site features open space with many mature trees that will be preserved. A small “pocket park” will be created to be enjoyed by bank customers and the community.
Hardaway Construction Corporation is the contractor for the new building. In addition to The Hall Group, other members of the project team are The Laine Company, EMC Structural Engineers, and Power Management Corporation.
“Our new main office building will have space for expansion, an important feature as First Freedom Bank looks forward to serving Wilson County for many years,” Lancaster said.
