The youthful Bruins entered the playoffs 6-4, but as underdogs have knocked off two tough opponents on the road -- Independence and Franklin High.

Brentwood quarterback Austin Winfree had perhaps his best game as a passer in a 23-14 victory over Franklin last week. Winfree, the son of BHS offensive coordinator and former Mt. Juliet head coach Dan Winfree, completed eight of 12 passes for a season-high 143 yards and two touchdowns.

The bell-cow for the Bruin offense is fullback Chudi Echetebu who has rushed for 1,233 yards on 229 carries and has scored 11 touchdowns.

The Brentwood defensive unit has been solid all season, allowing a mere 12 points per game on average.

Mt. Juliet (12-0) counters with one of the top offensive units in Middle Tennessee -- averaging a mind-boggling 43 points per game. Top weapons include Contrez McCathern, 1,335 yards on 150 carries -- 8.9 per attempt and 15 TDs.

QB Caleb Chowbay has completed 58-of-104 pass attempts (56%) for 1,440 yards, 21 touchdowns and just three interceptions.

Wideout Harris has caught 25 balls for 738 yards, an average of 29.5 per reception, and 12 touchdowns.
