Big Brothers needs community's help
Mt. Juliet-West Wilson Big Brothers needs the community’s help with its annual Food and Toy distribution to be held at the Mt. Juliet Middle School (next to Sonic), 3565 N. Mt. Juliet Road.
“Our food list and our toy request have almost outgrown our small group. We will be doing just a few more food boxes this year as we have maxed out with what we can do. Without the many volunteers, we would be unable to pull this off,” said Owen Gleaves, who heads up public relations for the Big Brothers.
Help is needed on the evening of Friday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. and the morning of Saturday, Dec. 19 at 7 a.m. in the school cafeteria to prepare the “Mother’s Toy Store” for parents to shop.
Help is needed on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 7 a.m. to deliver food to needy families in West Wilson County. You will need room for a minimum of two boxes of food in your vehicle weighing approximately 40 pounds each.
Adult volunteers are needed to serve as shoppers in the Mother’s Toy Store Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Orientation will be at 10 a.m. on how to shop with parents.
Volunteers are also needed late Saturday afternoon, Dec. 19 starting at 4 p.m. to help with the cleanup of the Cafeteria in preparation for school on Monday. Volunteers may work any time schedule that they prefer during these time period.
