NAIA FOOTBALL COACHES' POLL
LEBANON -- Riding a three-game winning streak, Cumberland University is ranked 25th in the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25, announced by the NAIA office late Monday afternoon. The ranking is the first for the Bulldogs since January 12, 2003, a postseason poll at the conclusion of the 2002 season.
Cumberland lost its season opener to Austin Peay but has reeled off three straight victories, giving up only 20 points in those three contests while the game was in doubt.
The Bulldogs rank 10th nationally in total defense, allowing just 241.8 yards per game while ranking in the Top 25 in 10 different categories. The unit has also produced 15 turnovers in four contests this season, on pace to surpass last year's total of 32.
Cumberland returns home this weekend for the second of three straight contests at Lindsey Donnell Stadium, taking on Lindsey Wilson at 1:30 p.m. for Homecoming.
