Trailing 1-0, Cumberland tied the score with a run in the top of the fourth, then added three more runs in the top of the fifth.
Campbellsville (27-20) pushed across two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but Aaron Tant came out of the bullpen to record the finals nine outs for his fifth save of the season.
Anthony Fomasi (5-1) started and got the win with six inning of seven-hit ball. He allowed three earned runs and one strikeout.
CU’s winning streak stretched to 12 consecutive games.
REGION XII NOTES -- Coming out of the losers’ bracket, No. 2 seed Union had to defeat Tennessee Wesleyan twice in order to capture the Region XII title.
Union won the first game 8-4 behind a strong performance from junior pitcher Marty Popham.
Then, Union built a 5-1 lead in the second contest and held on for the 5-4 decision and its second region crown in a row.
Union and Cumberland University met up in the super regional in 2007 with CU winning the series two games to none.
