Cedars of Lebanon State Park announces schedule

Cedars of Lebanon State Park located on Highway 231, in Lebanon, plans its weekly events from Monday, July 21 through July 26. 

This week is “Herps Week,” a week dedicated to reptiles and amphibians.

Movie of the week will be “Between Land and Water: Film following frogs and salamanders”

There are no programs scheduled for Sundays and Mondays, but the Nature Center will be open.  Monday and Tuesdays events are as follows:

Monday, July 21:
• Special Guest – 2 p.m., Professor Cobb and Lacy Danikas from Middle Tennessee State University present “Snakes of TN Up Close and Personal.” Meet at Nature Center.

Tuesday, July 22:
• Cedar Glade – 9 a.m., these glades are full of unique plants; meet Dava Conway at the Park Office to find out about these misunderstood ecosystems.  (all ages)
• Make a Tad-frog – 11 a.m., learn about the metamorphosis it takes to become a frog, followed by a craft to take home. Meet Conway at the Camp Store.
• Frog Puppets – 2 p.m., join Marta at the Camp Store and have fun with paper frog puppets. (all ages)
• Special Guest – 2 p.m., Professor Cobb and Lacy Danikas from Middle Tennessee State University present “Snakes of TN Up Close and Personal.” Meet at Nature Center.
• Rainbow Hike – 5 p.m., meet Marta at the cedar forest trailhead to embark on an adventure. (all ages)
