City fireworks rescheduled for Sept. 11

Craighead said he looked at having a show this weekend, but the Ag Center had already been booked for a rodeo. Fireworks and horses dont go together well, he said, explaining that the loud crackling could spook the animals. We looked at several dates and decided on Sept. 11

Craighead believes a patriotic fireworks show will be fitting on that day. I have had a lot of strong support for that day. It is a day to remember those who were killed on 9/11, but also to honor those who rose up out of the ashes to make a stand against terrorism, he said. You always lift those who sacrifice.
