Community thanked for support of public safety telecommunicators
To the Editor:
The Lebanon Police Department Communications Division would like to express their gratitude to those who made their Public Safety Telecommunicators luncheon that was held on April 17 a success.
Thank you Mayor Philip Craighead for the proclamation issued in honor of Public Safety Telecommunicator’s Week. It will be framed for the dispatchers to enjoy for years to come. The next big thank you is extended to Stroud’s BBQ who donated lunch to each dispatcher and catered the luncheon for all the others who attended. It was delicious and very much appreciated! Kroger donated a sheet cake to show their support and it was a tasty ending to a wonderful meal.
The Chief of Police, Scott Bowen, and Capt. Jerry Pruitte, along with the Fraternal Order of Police Lebanon Lodge #83, made monetary donations to go towards the gifts that each dispatcher received. Due to the budget restraints we have experienced this year, gifts of appreciation would not have been possible without their participation.
Finally, I want to thank the community for its continued support. It is only during the second full week in April each year that we take the time to recognize these public servants, or as stated in the City of Lebanon Proclamation “Earth Angels in Headsets.” For this reason, I find it just as important to honor those who have honored us. So let me extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in this event and helped me to show my gratitude to these dedicated public safety telecommunicators.
