Old LHS gym will be site for Saturday's Jaelin Davis funeral service PDF Print E-mail

An overflow crowd is expected for Saturday mornings' funeral / celebration of life as Lebanon High athletes, family and friends will pay their respects to Jaelin R. Davis, 15.

The rising sophomore athlete died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday, June 12, 2012.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 15 between the hours of 2-7 p.m. at Neuble Monument Funeral Home LLC., and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service which will be held at the old Lebanon High Gym on Harding Drive.

Pastor Gerald Davis will serve as eulogist with music provided by the Lebanon Church of God. Special seating will be reserved for his teammates and LHS cheerleaders.

A basketball and football player for the Blue Devils, Davis was born February 7, 1997 to Demetria C. Davis and Clayton Nunley. He was beloved and respected by his classmates and teachers alike.

"He touched a lot of lives," his mother Demetria said. "He was the one who kept everyone together, he was a peacemaker. He was a good child. His assignment has ended, but he's gone up in heaven to do more work for the Lord."  

In addition to his parents, he is survived by siblings Jayla and Jaiya Davis and Kentez Burford; grandparents: Pastor Gerald and Barbara Davis, Roy Nunley and Betty Nunley; aunts Jamila Davis, Monique Davis, Carolyn (De’Quan) Rhodes, Sonda (Stevie) Steverson; uncles Gerald Davis Jr., Roy Nunley and Prentice (Andrea) Davis; as well as very special and devoted cousin Taye Davis.
