The Lebanon / Wilson County Chamber of Commerce is coordinating volunteers. Plastic storage bings, trash bags, brooms and mops are needed -- as well as volunteer labor. Anyone wishing to donate should call 444-5503.
All local schools, public, private and Cumberland University, are closed Monday. Cumberland University will be OPEN on Tuesday as will LSSD Schools. All Wilson County Schools will be CLOSED TUESDAY.
At least one school received some damage as a result of flood waters. The man-made lake at Del Webb in Mt Juliet spilled across Rutland Road and flooded the new wing of Rutland Elementary School.
Lebanon's College Hills Church of Christ and the family life center at Mt. Juliet's Grace United Methodist Church have been designated as shelters for flood victims.
John Jewell, director of the Wilson Emergency Management Agency, said his people performed multiple water rescues Saturday and Sunday. No deaths or injuries were reported in the county.
The Music City Star commuter train is closed until further notice due to track damage south of Lebanon's downtown. The Star's locomotives are stored in a railroad yard behind Veterans Field and are unable to leave until track repairs are made.
Gray Line buses will be available for those who usually ride the Music City Star from every pick-up location station except the Martha Station at State Route 109 and Powell Grove Road.
