To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Wilson County Trustee Jim Major on the job he has done for the past three years he has been in office. He has made Wilson County more than a million dollars in extra revenue by bidding out the county’s checking account and by being aggressive with the certificates of deposit. This was never done before. The extra $100 in tax relief that he got for the elderly will be greatly appreciated by those who qualify. He is certainly to be commended.

I understand that Mr. Major fought long and hard to get this passed before the County Court. The County Commissioners are also to be commended.

I appreciate the fact that Mr. Major is not just one of the Good Ole Boys. He has the taxpayers’ interest at heart. Thanks again, Mr. Major, for a job well done.
