Cumberland Athletics will honor 176 student-athletes who held a 3.0 grade-point-average or above at the end of the Fall 2010 semester during a luncheon Thursday, April 14 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon.

Student-athletes from Cumberland’s 16 sports will be recognized, including baseball (19), bowling (7), cheerleading (9), cycling (7), football (49), men’s basketball (6), men’s golf (3), men’s soccer (13), men’s tennis (5), softball (12), women’s basketball (6), women’s golf (4), women’s soccer (10), women’s tennis (4), volleyball (7) and wrestling (5).

Eight athletic training and two students who work within the athletic department will also be part of the group.

“We want to start a tradition of recognizing our student-athletes and their accomplishments both in the classroom and on the playing field,” said Ron Pavan, Director of Athletics. “This is a great way to honor all of these students and their academic achievements.”
