CU plays at rival Bethel

Bulldog tailback Lemeco Miller rushed for 126 yards and accounted for two TDs as the CU defense allowed just 52 yards in the final quarter to preserve the win.

Cumberland (6-2, 2-1 Mid-South West) stayed alive in the conference race with their victory coupled Bethel's 33-21 win over Faulkner University.

With the victory, the Wildcats took over the top spot in the MSC West with a 3-0 division record, 5-3 overall.

Bethel's Cordarious Mann rushed for 182 yards on 33 carries and had one rushing touchdown to lead the Wildcats to their third straight victory.

The Wildcat defense, led by Jocquel Skinner, set a single game record with six interceptions. Skinner had three picks in the contest followed by one each by Kyle Whiteman, Stoney Burns and Kevonce McDonald.

Saturday will mark the 24th meeting between the two programs with CU holding a 15-7-1 advantage.

Bethel and CU met for the first time in 1921. Last year the Bulldogs beat the Cats 36-34 in Lebanon.
