CU plays in MSC softball tournament Saturday at 12 Noon



The Blue Raiders earn the tournaments top seed due to the second tiebreaker after the two teams split four games this season. Head-to-head is the first tiebreaker.


Lindsey Wilson owned a better record than the Tigers against the conferences No. 3 team to earn the higher seed.


The Blue Raiders face No. 8-seed Pikeville (20-25, 9-19) at 9 a.m. CT on Saturday at one of the two fields at Domtar. The other 9 a.m. game features No. 4-seed Shawnee State (24-14, 18-8) against fifth-seeded UVa.-Wise (30-19, 18-10)


The remaining two opening round games begin at 12 Noon CT. Campbellsville meets No. 7-seed Rio Grande (22-17, 11-15) while third-seeded Georgetown (30-12, 20-8) plays No. 6-seed Cumberland (33-18, 15-13).


Following Saturdays play, the tournament continues on Sunday with the championship game slated for Monday, April 29.
