LEBANON -- Cumberland soccer player Helena Dimantas Farias was named the TranSouth Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after scoring four goals with three assists in two Cumberland victories.
It is the second straight TSAC Offensive POW honor for Dimantas Farias, who continued her hot streak with four goals and three assists in wins over rival Trevecca Nazarene and Division II Kentucky Wesleyan last week. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native netted three goals in a victory against Trevecca and actually missed a penalty kick in the match.
In last Friday’s 3-1 triumph at Kentucky Wesleyan, the junior assisted on two Rhianne Parsons goals and then tallied the final score of the match.
Dimantas Farias has 10 goals and four assists in the last seven matches, as Cumberland has put together a 5-1-1 stretch.
She has posted 12 goals and 10 assists this season, ranking second in the TranSouth in points (34) and goals and leading the league in assists. Cumberland plays its final regular season match Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Freed-Hardeman and will begin play in the TranSouth Championships Saturday against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
