PASCAGOULA, MS -- It’s back to school and a more normal routine for the 12 members of Lebanon’s Rotary Dixie Major all-star team after suffering a 5-3 loss Wednesday afternoon in the "O"-Zone World Series.
Alabama’s Hayes Battles and Jacob Beauchamp each had two hits, including two-run homers, to eliminate the gutty Tennesseans.
Battles’ home run came in the first inning, giving Alabama a 2-0 lead.
Tennessee came right back in the second with three runs of their own.
Jacob Williams singled to start the inning and after a pop-out, Jameson Sorrels singled, putting two men on for Dusty Meador -- who pulled an RBI single to right.
Sorrels and Meador scored on a passed ball to give Tennessee a 3-2 advantage.
Jackson Dennis singled for Alabama in the bottom of the third and scored on a Jeremiah Summerford double to tie the game back at 3-3.
Braxton McFarlin started for Tennessee. He was relieved with one out in the first by Meador who went two and two-thirds before giving way to Caleb Snider.
Lebanon was limited to five hits in the loss.
