Dr. Scott Major, a Wilson County native who practices family medicine at Summit Primary Care in Hermitage, has been invited to join the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation. The Physicians Advisory Committee was created to provide advice on issues relating to the advancement of cancer care. The Committee serves in a resource and advisory capacity to assist in the development, coordination, and evaluation of activities related to cancer care and support. Functions of the committee include providing updates, trends, and recommendations in cancer care, providing advice and guidance on staffing and training issues, and serving as a communication link and information resource to the healthcare community. Committee members act as ambassadors to expand awareness of the offerings of the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation. Major, who is from Lebanon and attended public schools in Lebanon, has received the distinguished honor of Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He serves on the Board of Directors at Summit Hospital and he is co-owner of Renaissance Aesthetics and Summit Medical Management. He and his wife, Angie, live in Mt. Juliet and have one son, Jackson.
