JOELTON -- Mrs. Jones, 98, of Joelton, passed away March 21, 2010. Born January 30, 1912, she was a member of Mt. Juliet's Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet and was the widow of the late Rev. Ernest A. Jones.
As a pastor’s wife, mother and Sunday School teacher of many years, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and all other types of home crafts. Attending church, Bible study, reading and family were passions throughout her life. Her quick wit and humor brought laughter to her family and friends.
Visitation with family, Monday, March 22 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday March 23 from 10 a.m. until time of service. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 23 at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Groover and Bro. David Royalty officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include: daughter Bettye (Dan) Stewart of Lebanon, son Ronny (Sandra) Jones of Joelton, and daughter-in-law Ann Jones; grandchildren Danny (Diane) Stewart, Teddy (Laurie) Stewart, Janelyn (Johnny) Knowles, Dana Stewart, Ernie (Lisa) Jones, Kimberly (Sean) Caley, Mike (Kettie) Jones, Scott Jones and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by son Jimmy R. Jones and granddaughter Kathy Jones.
Active pallbearers: Danny Stewart, Teddy Stewart, Ernie Jones, Mike Jones, Sean Caley, Johnny Knowles, Chuck Stewart, John Knowles; Honorary: Porter Jones, Karl Johnston, John Walker, Luke Stewart, Stewart Knowles, Andy Stewart, Noah Stewart, Jason Black and Wayne Oakley Sunday School Class.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Kenneth Anderson, the Pediatric staff at University Medical Center, Donelson Home Heatlh and “MawMaw’s Girls”: Cathy Dillard, Avonda Williams, Keri MaHaffey, Shelby Lee, Miranda Dies and Sharon Jared for their loving, faithful and compassionate care.
