The suspect, described by witnesses as a possible black male, 5 feet 10 inches – 5 feet 11 inches and 280-300 pounds, is also a suspect in other robberies “in the general vicinity,” Shields said Monday, including the armed robbery of the Little Caeser’s Pizza in Shiloh Plaza in Old Hickory/Mt. Juliet and “several other” bank robberies in Davidson County. Shields would not divulge the amount of money stolen in the robberies but did say the suspect is carrying a weapon.
The suspect is described in a police report as wearing a Titans bandana over his face with medium or small logos, blue shirt or jacket, large black sunglasses and a white cap. He carried a black automatic handgun “held in his left hand and a brown bag in his right hand.” He is also described as driving “an older white vehicle, possibly a Buick.”
The suspect reportedly entered the bank and approached a bank teller, saying, “You know what I want, I ain’t playin’.” Once the teller gave the robber her top bank drawer he reportedly said, “You ain’t done, you know what I want, I ain’t playin’.” The teller gave him the bottom bank drawer and asked the drive-through teller to bring the robber that one as well.
MJPD Det. Cpl. Chad Swallows is the local contact for the investigation. Shields urged anyone with any information to contact either him or Swallows. The Mt. Juliet Police Department phone number is 754-2550 or visit the website at www.cityofmtjuliet.org/police.
