FCS tops Watertown in softball


COUCH DRIVES IN GAME-WINNER

LEBANON -- Addie Couch broke open a 3-3 game with an RBI double to lead Friendship Christian to a thrilling 4-3 softball win over visiting Watertown Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Commanders improved to 3-0 in District 8A and 8-8 overall.

Brooke Klinefelter went six innings to get the win for FCS. Camille Cross belted a two-run homer in the fourth for the winners.

Friendship will play at Trousdale County today (Wednesday) in a 4:30 p.m. make up game.

MT. JULIET 4, LaVERGNE 1

LaVERGNE -- Sarah Beth Roberts ripped a two-run single in the top of the fifth to lead Mt. Juliet to a 4-1 softball win at LaVergne Tuesday.

The victory improved Mt. Juliet’s record to 10-4 overall, 2-2 in District 9AAA. Brittnie Goins got the win, scattering six hits with six strikeouts. She did not walk a batter.

Mt. Juliet visits Wilson Central today (Wednesday) at 4:30 p.m.
