GORDONSVILLE -- Graveside services were held at the Gordonsville Cemetery Thursday, February 5 for Mrs. Harper, 100, of Gordonsville. She died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at Sumner Hospice at Gallatin Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Harper was born January 22, 1909 in New Middleton, the daughter of the late Minnie Frances Turner and Willie Baker.
She worked as a cook at Gordonsville School, at the Carthage Shirt Corporation and Precision Rubber Company in Lebanon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gordonsville.
Services were conducted by Brother Mike Christian.
Survivors include: sons Glenn McClanahan of South Carthage and Bobby Harper of Lebanon, five grandchildren, seven great granchildren, five great, great granchildren; sisters Myrtle Reed of Nashville and Delia Preston of Carthage, brothers Rev. Howard Baker of Indiana and Thayer Baker of Nashville.
In addition to her parents, seven siblings preceded her in death, as did son Clyde William McClanahan and husband Erle D. Harper (January 26, 1981).
Gordosnville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
