Price, a member of the Nashville Steel Horseman motorcycle club, was lifeflighted to Grady Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Blue Raider coach Steve Peterson said MTSU baseball lost a family member.
"(Price) was still very close to this program and he stopped by all the time," Peterson said. "I feel very sad for his family, his wife and children. And as word of this news spreads, his teammates are going to mourn Chris. He was a great guy and a tremendous ball player, and this is just tragic news."
Price, a Lebanon native, was an MTSU outfielder from 1991-94. His 34 home runs ranks eighth all-time at MTSU, and his 135 RBIs ranks 12th. Price was an All-Ohio Valley Conference selection in 1992, and he played in two NCAA postseasons (1991 regional, 1994 play-in series). He played professionally in the Kansas City Royals organization.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 15 at the College Hills Church of Christ, 1401 Leeville Pike, Lebanon.
There will be a family visitation Friday, August 14, between the hours of 6-8 p.m. at College Hills Church of Christ and Saturday from 10 a.m until the funeral.
Services will immediately follow the visitation with Bishop A.J. Valentine as the eulogist.

Arrangements are being handled by JC HELLUM FUNERAL HOME, 107 Stokes St., in Lebanon.
