Weaver, the trooper said, was negotiating a right hand curve and lost control of the vehicle, overcorrected and went into a yaw traveling into the northbound lanes. The Pathfinder SUV struck the car at a right angle into the passenger side door. Both vehicles came to a rest in the northbound lane.

Weaver and the driver of the SUV were injured in the accident. Weavers daughter, Linsey D. Weaver, 10, a passenger in the Dodge Stratus, was killed and pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, Weavers son, Zachary T. Weaver, 12, was also injured.

A passenger in the SUV, a 14-year-old male juvenile, was injured as well.

Fleming, the trooper, said in his report that all occupants in both vehicles were wearing their seat belts. There was no indication that alcohol or drugs played a part in the accident.
