Prom season is fast approaching, and the stylists at Glitz & Glamour Salon in Lebanon are ready to give one lucky Wilson County student a night she will always remember.

This is our second annual prom makeover giveaway. We are doing the same thing as last year one girl will be chosen from each Wilson County high school for free hair, makeup application and nails for prom, explained stylist Shannon Steele. However this year, with a community partnership, they have created one grand prize package that will be given to one of the five young ladies nominated.

The grand prize package will include a prom ticket paid for by The Corn Crib Health Store, prom dress from Demarris Gene, jewelry from a Sea of Silver and Sass, spray tan from Beauty Boutique, shoes from Sole UNique, a dental care kit from Nave Dental Studio, a corsage from Moss Florist, lipstick from MaryKay Consultant Stephanie Hollis, dinner at MoCaras Southern Fine Dining and limousine transportation from Stevie Saddler, owner of Saddler Funeral Home.

We really have the community rallied around us for this, Steele said.

Fellow stylist Jessica Dodds added, We wouldnt have a grand prize winner if it wasnt for those people.

High school girls can be nominated for a prom makeover by teachers, school staff, family members and peers. When you nominate somebody you should say why they need this. We want to understand why they deserve it. It can be somebody who is needy or just someone who is involved in the community. The girl we picked last year started her own charity, stylist Ginny McDonald said.

Nominations can be emailed to glitzandglamourgals@gmail.com. The deadline to nominate someone is April 6.

I see so many girls who dont know how pretty they are. There is so much beauty inside of girls and at that age they are sometimes afraid to let it out. This giveaway is about making them feel pretty, Steele said.

Everybody leaves here looking good that is what our job is. But this is about outreach to the community and letting girls know that it is okay to be pretty, smart, fun and raise awareness. These girls are excited about prom and you can come here and we will get excited about it with you. We want five special girls to win.
