The accident occurred around 3 p.m. when Dickens 1997 Saturn sideswiped a 2011 KIA Optima driven by Stella Lochmiller, also of Hendersonville, who was traveling northbound on Hwy. 109. Green said Lochmillers vehicle was forced off the road and Dickens then struck a 2010 Nissan Versa being driven by Nena M. Taylor of Lebanon.
He crossed the center and struck Ms. Lochmiller before hitting Ms. Taylor head-on, Green said.
Both Dickens and Taylor were taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt while Lochmiller was not severely injured and was released at the scene. Green said Taylor was released on Sunday, suffering a broken leg and other minor injuries.
As of right now, Dickens is still in the hospital and in stable condition, Green said.
At this time, the officer noted there are no indications that alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident, but said that is still under investigation. He said Dickens does not own the Saturn he drove that day and was driving on a revoked license.
Charges at this time are driving without a seatbelt on and driving on a revoked license, Green said. But those charges are pending due to his condition.
