Lebanon Mayor Philip Craighead called launching a Special Census "the biggest thing going on right now" during the September City Chat on Wednesday morning at the Lebanon/Wilson Chamber of Commerce.

NASA astronaut and Mt. Juliet High graduate Barry "Butch" Wilmore will be the featured speaker at the 2015 Wilson County Fellowship of Christian Athletes annual banquet.

The event is planned for 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 at Mt. Juliet's Victory Baptist Church, 1777 Tate Lane.

Sunday, Sept. 13 on campus
LEBANON -- Cumberland University and the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Sports Council are teaming up for an All Sports Camp for Wilson County residents ages 7-12 on Sunday, Sept. 13 from 3-5 p.m. on the CU campus. Registration starts at 2 p.m. that day.

Girls and boys will be able to choose from baseball, softball, football, tennis, soccer, volleyball, basketball and golf. Individuals will receive instruction from their chosen sport for the entire two-hour time frame of the camp and a parent or guardian must remain on site throughout the duration of the camp.

GALLATIN -- Wilson Central's volleyball team improved to 8-7 overall and 2-2 in District 9-AAA following a 3-0 sweep at Gallatin High Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Game scores: 25-22, 25-20 and 25-18.

Delaney McCorkle was solid on the front line with 11 kills, five digs and a service ace for the Lady Wildcats.
