After winning their tournament opener Wednesday afternoon over Arlington, Va., the Tennessee champions dropped a 15-5 decision to Lumber River, NC.

Crowned champions of the Dixie Youth “O” Zone state tournament last week in Sweetwater, the Lebanon Youth Baseball squad will open play Saturday, Aug. 6 in the Dixie Youth World Series in South Carolina.

LEBANON -- Rising seventh grader Jeremiah Hastings was the recipient of the fifth annual Chris Price Award / Scholarship presented Saturday, July 26 by the family of the late two-sport Lebanon High athlete Chris Price.

The presentation was held at the James E. Ward Ag. Center as part of the Wilson County Black History Committee’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement.

LG&CC men’s invitational this weekend
Spots remain open for entrants in this weekend’s Men’s Invitational at the Lebanon Golf & Country Club. The stroke play tournament will cover 36 holes on Saturday and Sunday with flights determined by the number of participants. Entry fee includes lunch on Saturday as well as a practice round. Players should call the pro shop at 444-5010 for tee times.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.
