FREE CLINIC -- CU hosts all sports camp

Sunday, Sept. 13 on campus
LEBANON -- Cumberland University and the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Sports Council are teaming up for an All Sports Camp for Wilson County residents ages 7-12 on Sunday, Sept. 13 from 3-5 p.m. on the CU campus. Registration starts at 2 p.m. that day.

Girls and boys will be able to choose from baseball, softball, football, tennis, soccer, volleyball, basketball and golf. Individuals will receive instruction from their chosen sport for the entire two-hour time frame of the camp and a parent or guardian must remain on site throughout the duration of the camp.

Chu has two goals in loss
LEBANON -- Olivia Chu scored twice and nearly had a third in the final minute, but 14th-ranked Olivet Nazarene held on for 4-3 victory over No. 4 Cumberland in women's soccer action Sunday at Lindsey Donnell Stadium-Kirk Field.

The CU women (1-1-0) scored twice in a five-minute span early in the second half, the first by Chu on an assist from Connie Awuku-Darkoh, and the second from Emily Shires, who took a long ball by Kaitlin Kisiloski, beat her defender twice and calmly slotted a shot just inside the left post, giving CU a 2-1 advantage in the 60th minute.

WATERTOWN - Fresh from the first victory in the brief history of the program, the Watertown High soccer team will be back in action Tuesday, Sept. 1 as the Lady Tigers travel to Murfreesboro to challenge Central Magnet School. Action kicks off at 5 p.m.

Four different Watertown players scored goals in Tuesday's (Aug. 25) 4-3 home win over Hendersonville-based Aaron Academy.

Lebanon High football program and cheerleaders will host a pregame tailgate party Friday, Aug. 28 prior to the season opener vs. Warren County.
Service starts at 5 p.m. $5 plates will be served with Whitt's BBQ sandwiches, chips, drinks, and homemade desserts. Tickets can be purchased in advance or the night of the game.
