Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Included in these base bids are the cost of a geothermal heating and air conditioning system.

The school board will announce a final decision on which construction company will be selected to build the school 3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 4 at the Central Office, 351 Stumpy Lane, Lebanon.

The bid opening process marked another step in finally seeing a new LHS constructed to replace the more than 50-year-old structure that remains in use.

This past spring, county commission approved the funding for the new Lebanon High through the Build America Bond program at a cost not to exceed $50 million which includes all furniture needed for the new facility. The bonds were sold in April and the money wired to Wilson County.

Clearing and grubbing of the property that sits off Hickory Ridge Road and Leeville Pike has been under way for the past few weeks and is expected to be completed soon.

Plans call for the new school to be ready for students in the fall of 2012.
