The Wilson County Fair first used this slogan in 1923 and 85 years later this is still true, he said.
Throughout Wilson County’s history, the fair has been the major event of the county where the talents of many individuals are showcased each year. Wilson County residents take a great deal of pride in their county fair which continues to grow each year due to their participation, he said.
Among the attractions and entertainment this year is, for the first time, a high dive acrobatic and stunt show which will be performed each night for the nine-day event. This high action show will be an attraction for all ages and brings back a great deal of history of fairs of years gone by, Clemons said.
Another first-time event will be the Tracy Lawrence Concert made possible by Burchett Ford Lincoln Mercury in the new covered arena on Aug. 20.
If you like action, Clemons said, another new event will be Off Road Challenge sponsored by Tennessee Off Road LLC which will be on Aug. 21 where you will see some of the greatest action to be performed by a automobile.
The Wilson County Fair Board, which is comprised of 300 volunteers from Wilson County, issues a special invitation to everyone to be a part of your “Tennessee Big County Fair.”
Clemons noted that this fair distinction is only made possible by your continued participation, so please prepare your exhibits for competition so your talents are showcased at the annual event. Whatever your talent or hobby is you can be a part of the County Fair Aug. 15-23.
