Jack Lyons Meadows, 82

GAINESBORO -- Services for Mr. Jack Lyons Meadows will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Granville Cemetery.
Mr. Meadows, 82, was the son of the late Captain Bob Meadows and Edna “Big Moma” Shoulders Meadows. He is survived by his wife, Anne Maddux Meadows, of Gainesboro; children John (Stacey) Meadows of Mt. Juliet and Laura (Robert) Qualls of Nashville.
Also surviving: granddaughter Katherine Elizabeth Qualls of Knoxville; and brother Thomas Henry (Maxine) Meadows of Louisville, KY.
Mr. Meadows passed away on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was a retired insurance agent and the owner of R. L. Meadows Insurance Agency in Gainesboro.
A member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ and the former President of the Jackson County Little League, he was a former Jackson County commissioner and Gainesboro City Alderman.
He served in the US Air Force and was involved in secret radar development.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Robert Lee Meadows, Katherine Cassetty, Ruth Childress, Brown Felker and Claudine Cassetty.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 18, from 5 – 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jackson County Little League.
