James Buford Word, 70
GLADEVILLE – Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, September 2 at the Hamilton Chapel Methodist Church for Mr. Word, 70.
Born in the Martha Community Dec. 5, 1937 to the late James Horace and Elizabeth Maude Word, he died August 28, 2008 at Lebanon’s University Medical Center.
Services were conducted by Pastor Robert Spickard, Sr. and Pastor Belita McMurry-Fite.
Burial was at the Gladeville Cemetery in the "Word Family Site".
Survivors include: his wife of 33 years Nannie Mae Word; sisters Mary A. Word Baugh, Martha L. Word Buford, Elizabeth Burns – all of Mt. Juliet and Connie (Judge) Thomas of Nashville; step-daughters Janeth (Timothy) Jobe, Lena (rubin) Brinkley, Linda (Charles) Oldham) and step-sons Eddie (Carolyn) Maynard, Alphonso (Lakeshia) Maynard, George T. Robertson and Frankie (Carolyn) Rome.
Also surviving are numerous cousins, relatives, neighbors and friends too numerous to mention.
Disyal Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
