James R. "Jay" Vaden, 80

WATERTOWN -- Funeral services were held Monday morning, October 26 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Vaden, 80, of Watertown.

Retired from Bethlehem Steel a US Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Vaden died Oct. 23, 2009 at Lebanon’s University Medical Center.

Born in Smith County to the late John Sherman Vaden and Luvenia Bush Vaden, he was a member of the Poplar Hill Baptist Church.

Services were conducted by Rev. Ben Fuston with burial at the Eastern Gate Cemetery.

Survivors include: wife Rose Vaden and son Donald (Lee) Vaden -- all of Watertown.

Also surviving are grandchildren Michael (Jenny) Vaden, Misty Duncan, Robbie Jr., Kevin and Danielle Hendley; great grandchildren Michael William, Shawnee and Robbie III; sister Shirley (Ben) Fuston and sister-in-law Vickey Vaden -- both of Watertown.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Vaden is preceded in death by siblings Milton, Hubert, C.S. "Bud", Sammy Vaden, Virginia Vanatta and Helen Bennett.

Pallbearers: family and friends. Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown, in charge.
