WATERTOWN -- The family of Mr. Williams will hold a remembrance of his life between the hours of 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11 at his Watertown home.
A native of Wilson County and an employee of the Wilson County Sheriff's office, Mr. Williams died Aug. 9, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness.
The son of the late Sammie Baker Williams and Mirla Lois Tarpley Williams, he was a graduate of Lebanon High School and an avid fan of the University of Tennessee and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include: his wife of 40 years Dottie Dodd Williams of Watertown and children: terry (Lesa) Williams of Texas, Kelli (Bill) Crunk of Mt. Juliet and James (Jennifer) Williams of Old Hickory.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Bailey Williams, heath and Alivia Barrett and Zoey Mae Williams; mother-in-law Clara Dodd of Watertown; brothers: Paul (Jamie) Williams, John (Aleene) Williams, George (Henrietta) Williams, Bob (Gloria) Williams, Bill (Mary) Williams, Fred (Glenda) Williams and Doris (Pat) Williams and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Sam A. and Merlin Williams.
The family wishes to thank Patty and Bobby Joe Smith, Wanda Jernigan, the physicians and staff of St. Thomas Oncology and Odyssey Hospice for their special care.
