LEBANON -- Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Stewart, 90, of Lebanon.
Born April 2, 1920, in Wilson County to the late Grover Cleveland and Cora Bell Bond Stewart, he passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010, at his home.
A US Army veteran of World War II and a lifelong farmer, he was a member of the Beckwith Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Visitation after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ligon & Bobo.
Services will be conducted by Elder Ronnie Stewart. Interment will follow at the Stewart Family Cemetery at LaGuardo.
Survivors include: his wife of 64 years Maggie May Lain Stewart; children, Phylus (Terry) Redmon and Ronnie (Kristi) Stewart -- all of Lebanon; grandchildren Glenn Bates, Steve Bates, Stephanie Stewart and Angela Stewart; great grandchildren Bradley, Courtney and Jakob Bates; and sisters, Marie Parrish and Helen Ragland -- both of Lebanon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Cora Ellen Sanford.
Honorary pallbearers: Home Primary Care, Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
